At a famous Jazz guitar related website, Jazz Guitar Online, can be found an interesting poll result showing what makes are most used among their readers. I thought it would be fun to see how it’s going to look like here in Japan if I ask the same question to people who read this small blog regularly. So the survey has been conducted during August 21st and September 15th 2017, with 359 readers kind enough to participate in. Here is the result :
It’s not surprising to see Gibson is the most popular box here, but it is surprising to find the top 5 box are almost the same (top 4 exactly the same) with the result at Jazz Guitar Online (comparison table below), except that Yamaha seems to be much more popular here than in abroad. Other interesting findings are there seem to be very few people who play Jazz with a Gretsch, whereas makes like Sadowsky and Steinberger seem to have greater shares.
